Three quick and simple things you can do to help and make your web page rank better in Google;
- Use the keyword that you’re targeting in the URL or the unique address of that web page
- Include the keyword in the page title
- And also include it in the level one heading otherwise known as the H1 or heading one of the page
So for example if you are optimising a page for the keyword “sports trophies” you would ideally make sure that the words “sports trophies” is in the domain name. So it might be sportstrophies.com, if you can’t get “sports trophies” in the domain name, then you would make sure that it is after the domain name in the URL so it might be acmiwidgets.com/sportstrophies.
Then the title of the page, and the page title is what actually appears in the top of the browser window. So when you’re looking at a webpage, if you look at the very top of the browser window, in the browser bar it will tell you the title of the page that you are looking at. And in this case the page title needs to include the words sports trophies so it might be sports trophies distributors in Australia for example or the page title might just be sports trophies. Then you also need to make sure the H1 tag, the first level heading on your webpage, uses the keywords sports trophies.
Now there’s a link underneath the video to the Google Keyword research tool. If you click on that link you can go and do some research to work out which keywords you should be ranking for. The keywords you should be targeting will be those keywords that have good levels of traffic and not too much competition. If there’s too much competition, then it’s going to take too long and be impossible to get on the first page of Google.
But once you’ve got your keyword right, we know from experience and from trials with the people at https://stellarseo.com/blogger-outreach-service/ that if you use the keyword in the URL of the webpage, the page title and the H1 tag of the page that you will dramatically increase your chances of Google finding your page and knowing what it is about and that will help increase your rankings.
And so for fun, Google “sports trophies” if you’re in Australia. If you’re not in Australia make sure you do an Australian search at google.com.au and Google “sports trophies” and on the very first page, usually in the first three or four positions you’ll find one of our clients “A Class Sports and Trophies” and we have managed to get that client into that position on Google just by following the three very simple techniques that I outlined in this video.
So go forth and rank well!
