Just a quick note to let you all know that I am speaking at WordCamp Melbourne 2013.
This will be my 4th WordCamp as a speaker following on from Melbourne 2011, Gold Coast 2011 and Sydney 2012.
My presentation this year is a slight departure from my previous style.
This talk is called “101 Ways to Elevate Yourself and Demand Higher Fees” and is aimed at helping web developers, particularly those using WordPress, add massive value to their clients and stop having to negotiate on price.
It will literally give 101 ways to do this in your business. Starting at the initial stage of incoming enquiry right through to site deployment and training.
There will be no code in this talk, just ideas, marketing strategies and business processes.
I'll post up an e-Book of the 101 ways after the presentation along with a video (if all the technical stuff goes well on the day).
Leave a comment below if you'd like a copy of the e-Book when it's published.
Here's the excerpt for the program.
So here's the skinny:
You don't need to negotiate on price. You don't need to compete with other web designers for work. You don't need to sell yourself to new clients.
You need to elevate yourself above the pack and position yourslef as an “above average” web developer in the eyes of your prospects so they come to you and ask for your help.
Like a doctor. When was the last you asked the Doc for a discount or to just fix that other thing while you're in there?
This presentation will show you 101 practical things you can do right now to achieve this in your business.
