It was just over one year ago that the infamous “Like” button was added to Facebook. Since that fateful day millions of people have been able to inform their friends about what they “Like” whether it be a witty status update, a band or a company's product/service.
The content a person liked may have already been on Facebook, however a lot of websites now feature the Like button on various pages of their sites so it is easier for their customers to become a fan. The action of liking something appears to all of that person's friends, helping brands spread their message virally. Now Facebook have taken the Like button one step further and introduced the “Send” button, which they are describing as “the easiest way to privately share things with groups and individuals”.
Have you content on your website that your customers won't necessarily Like on Facebook but might want to send it to a few of their friends? You need to add the “Send” button to your website. The Send button is a social plugin for websites that allows people to send a link through Facebook Messages and post to a Group or drop it into a friends inbox. The Send button has simplified sharing content even more and can really benefit your business.
The big win with the Send button is that it counts toward the total number of Likes a Page has. The Like total is now calculated by adding the number of Likes, shares, comments and inbox messages containing a URL.
So now there are more way to spread your love and put your brand in front of your friends' friends' friends.
