Every now and then I get an email from one of our students with some feedback on how our course has impacted them.
I find this kind of feedback addictive. This is far more rewarding than revenue numbers or growth charts for me. The thought that something I have created has had a positive impact on somebody else’s business and/or life is incredibly humbling and fills me with warm fuzzies.
Today I received an email from Cate, who recently completed one of our courses. She has given me permission to publish it here – unedited (I’ve added the links for your reference):
mmm business is pretty good but I have not perfected my process for getting more work – almost everything comes from referrals and is a bit random.
I’ve just delivered a website for twice what I’ve ever charged before so that feels very good.
I’m now scouting around for more BUT…
I just this week did an impromptu wide/deep session with a new client that morphed (I knew it would) into a strategy session and SHE LOVED IT but not half as much as I did.
I think this is a real way for me to add value to people in the throws of change / evolution in their business.
On top of that I’m reading Start With Why and got to the part where he described Apples way of bringing something to the market and how it differed from everyone else – leapt up and got a napkin (yes I was in the coffee shop again) and wrote this:
I love seeing that look in someones eye when they start seeing their business in a new way.
When they begin to shift in their seat and there is a new sparkle in their eyes.
When they pick up a pen and start taking notes
When their ideas start flowing and we have trouble keeping up with them.
When they are willing to really begin re-framing what and how they do things because they can see why it changes the game.
When they are willing to put stuff into action
When they start achieving their goals
When they tell me how much better things are because of their shift in perspective
When they say Thanks… and all I did was have a conversation with them.
I love my clients – specially when they get excited and take action.
Everything I do now is about tapping into the things that will bring that look of excitement into my clients eyes
I have conversations with people about their business.
We talk about simple stuff that often results in profound change in they way they look at their business/ organisation / group / project.
I have some great tools, processes, products and services that help transform businesses and help them achieve their goals.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this to highlight what happens when you start to teach what you know to your peers. This is something I had never anticipated but it has become the most rewarding part of my work.
I hope this inspires you to teach what you know.
